Abstract:
W e stud ied the light propagation in one-d imension photon ic cry sta l m ade o f m edia whose die lectric constant m odulated by a func tion from eigen ma trixm ethod and found that as long as the die lectric constant chang es per iodica lly, the m ed ia has the sim ilar band gaps as general pho ton ic cry sta .l M ore genera lly, w e studied the band gaps of the photonic crysta l w ith d ie lectr ic constant modu lated by random function, and a new m ethod for getting a special k ind of band gaps w as prov ided.
