Abstract:
E ffects o f g rinding on the struc ture o f m esoporous silica SBA-15 syn thesized w ith different temp la te-rem oval m ethods w ere investigated. The samp les w ere characterized byN2 adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction ( XRD) , fou rier-transform in frared spectro scopy ( FT-IR), and so lid-sta ted 29 S iCP MAS NMR. It w as found that the g rinding par tia lly destroyed the struc ture of m esoporous silica SBA-15, resu lting in a decrease in long-range order, as we ll as lowe r surface a rea, sm a ller po re vo lum e and d im in ishing pore diam ete r. M eanwh ile, the g rind ing increased the structu re defects in porew a l;l and them echanical pressure a lso caused the shrinkage o f the unit ce ll and the decrease in m icropore vo lum e. For the SBA-15 synthesized using d iffe rent temp la te-rem oval m ethods, the m echan ica l property of the calc ined sam ple is super ior to that of ethanol-extrac ted sam ple; a sm a ller in fluence on the form er w as obse rved upon gr ind ing. Th is is because the ca lcina tion is favorab le to the condensation and com paction o f silica w alls
