Abstract:
Phthalic acid was studied as matrices for determination of dopamine(153.08 Da)samples by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI TOF-TOF MS)method.This matrix material displayed at least two advantages.First,it was possible to avoid low mass chemical noise arising from the matrix in positive-ion mode.Second,phthalic acid could be used conventionally due to the low cost.The MALDI-TOF-MS analysis of dopamine demonstrated that the matrix material based on phthalic acid yielded spectra with minimal chemical noise and good analysis signal intensity.The present method can be readily applied to obtain the low background noise MALDI-TOF mass spectra of small molecules compounds.
