Abstract:
Otus scopus,Glaucidium cuculoides and Ketupa flavipes belonging to the Family Strigidae of Order Strigiformes were selected as studied object. Length and width of contour feathers,length of tail feathers,general length of barbules and knot spacing were measured and recorded by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM). Through data analysis,it turned out that the width of contour feathers,length of tail feathers,length of barbules and knot spacing among these three owls were widely different. These differences could be used to identify these three owls.
