Abstract:
Two three-dimensional frequency selective surface(3-D FSS)structures based on the I-shaped slots are proposed. A single-passband 3-D FSS with elliptical filtering characteristics is designed by introducing a new resonant mode by etching the I-shaped slots on the metal walls of the parallel plate path. On this basis,a dual-mode resonant unit is constructed by loading metallized vias in parallel plate paths. The parallel plate path splits the original single resonant mode into two modes of parity mode,achieving a dual-band 3-D FSS with high selectivity and small passband ratio. The E-field vector analysis of transmission poles and zeros is provided to understand the operating principle of the proposed two FSS. At the same time,it can be seen from the simulation of HFSS software that the proposed two FSS have a relatively stable frequency response under TE and TM polarization at different angles.
