Abstract:
Street is one of the most important parts of urban space,and urban street space vitality is an important indicator of space quality of urban blocks. Based on previous research,this paper redefines urban street space vitality at the conceptual level,and constructs a quantitative measurement framework for urban street space vitality in terms of both external representations and internal components,using Pearson correlation analysis to explore the relationship between external representations and internal components of urban street space vitality. The empirical study of Hefei's municipal and culture district found that:(1)Pedestrians in the block have different spatial distribution patterns at different times.(2)There are significant effects between the external representation of urban street space vitality and internal components such as green vision rate,interface enclosure,interface richness,relative walkway width,convenience of commercial facilities,convenience of public service facilities and convenience of cultural facilities.(3)The degree of influence between external representation and internal components changes with time. A reasonable space function layout and refined space environment design are the keys to efficiently organizing the crowd and enhancing the street vitality.
