Abstract:
Poly(methylsiloxane) modified bymethyl acrylate, which combines the p roperties ofmethyl ac rylate and poly(methylsiloxane) , was p repared from methyl acrylate and poly(methylhydrosiloxane). The p roduct structure was characterized by IR spectrum. Viscosity index, viscosity-temperature coefficient and surface tension of the p roductwere tested. The influence of viscosity and hydrogen content of poly(meth ylhydrosiloxane) on the p roperties of p roductwas discussed, and the relation between viscosity and hydro gen content of poly (methylhydrosiloxane) and viscosity index, viscosity-temperature coefficient and sur face tension ofmethyl acrylate modified siloxane was analyzed by regular regression and multip le regres sion with two variables. The results indicate that the hydrogen content of poly(methylhydrosiloxane) have more importent effect than its viscosity on methyl acrylate modified siloxane. The smaller the viscosity and hydrogen content of poly(methylhydrosiloxane) are, the better the p roduct p roperties. The viscosity index was 420, the viscosity-temperature coefficientwas 0.60 and the surface tension was 22.0mN /m. The re gression equations were effective and accurate, and the absolute values of standard error of viscosity-tem perature coefficient and surface tension were within the limit of 0.005 8 and 0.069 1 respectively.
