Abstract:
Mu lti- focus im age fusion a im s a t overcom ing im ag ing cam eras  fin ite depth of field by com b ining inform ation from m ultip le im ages w ith the sam e scene. It  s important for im age fusion to d ifferentiate pixel and choose the way of fus ion. Pulse coup led neu ra l netwo rk ( PCNN) and reg ion de tection are em ployed to solve the problem o fm ult-i focus image fusion. The c la rity of o rig inal im ag e is calcu la ted and processed by PCNN. The or ig ina l im age p ixe ls a re classified based on reg ion detec tion. Fina lly, a fusion im age is reconstructed accord ing to the classified results. Experim ents ind-i ca te tha t the proposed me thod is effective.
