Abstract:
In o rder to im prove the d isp lacem entm easurem ent accuracy o f the se l-f m ix ing interferom eter, s inuso ida l phase m odulating techn ique is introduced to the ana lysis o f se l-fm ix ing inte rference signa.l Phasem odulation is obtained by an e lectro-optic modu lator( EOM ) in the ex terna l cav ity and phase demodu lation is ach ieved by FFT ana lysis m ethod. The e ffect o fm odulation param eter on phase demodu lation is ana ly zed in sinuso ida l phasem odu la ting se l-f m ix ing interferom eter for disp lacem entm easurem en t. A rule fo r se lecting the modu lation param ete r is presen ted. The results of s imu la tion and exper im ents show that: them in imum modu la tion frequency needed to dem odulate the phase is d irectly proportional to the produc t of the am plitude and the frequency o f the exte rnal targ et. When the modu lation am plitude is 1. 23rad, the m easurement error caused by the loss o f po lariza tion is m in imum.
